This is Lady with an Ermine by Leonardo da Vinci, 1485.
I thought the composition of the picture was very interesting. First, I realized her hand was big a little bit. I thought Leonardo da Vinci wanted to draw the picture in perspective. Also, the ermine attracted my eyes.
The painting has slow falloff, so it was a high key light. The key light came from the right of the lady. The fill light came from the right. It has no the backgroung light because backgound was dark. I think the paiting had the back light. The attached shadow was not strong. The painting was not dramatic. The paiting has the key light , the fill light and the back light, so it was three point lighting.
This painting is the Virgin of the Rocks by Leonardo Da Vinci, 1495.
I chose the painting because I like her face. Her face was soft and peaceful. Her expression was indicative of her kindness. I like black and white of the painting. It was very contrastive.
The painting has fast falloff, so it is the low key light. The key light, the spot light came from the right of the lady. The fill light came from the left. The painting was dramatic. The backgorund light was not used, too. I do not know the back light was used or not.
To compare with the first painting, falloff was different. The second painting was more dramatic than than the first painting. The light intensity of the second painting was small. Both of them do not have cast shadow.
In short, falloffs of them were different. The difference between of the first and the second was the light intensity.
